I don’t often go ga-ga over a new music crush, but this Japanese gent is quite stunning with his pantheon of instruments and subdued vocal style. He’s a multi-instrumentalist in the vein on Sufjan Stevens or Polyphonic Spree, but with none of the excess and overdramatization.
I’m really at a loss for similes to describe how good his music is…it’s just stunning.
[edit - He supposedly employs over 50 different instruments on his album, all of which was recorded on a Mac with a couple microphones - which makes him THAT much more incredible.]
