FINALLY. SARAH PALIN GETS HER JUST DESSERTS FROM SOMEONE ON FOX NEWS.
This woman deserves a medal:
“It’s easy to say ‘the liberal media are caving in on her.’ Yes, they are, but she has given them a lot of raw meat. The woman is inarticulate, undereducated - and I pose this question: What do you think William F. Buckley would have thought about her as the ‘standard bearer’ for the conservative party?
…This is a woman who has used her good looks and gender to get ahead in the political world. That’s something that of course the men don’t want to admit, and certainly not the women.
So what are we talking about here? We’re not talking about a great statesman of profound experience whose banner is integrity - we’re talking about somebody who right from the get go has been a flashy person who gets in a lot of trouble, and really has no credentials for any job.”
Funny she should ask what William F. Buckley would say regarding Sarah Palin…
-
David Brooks: “When I first started in journalism, I worked at the National Review for Bill Buckley. And Buckley famously said he’d rather be ruled by the first 2,000 names in the Boston phone book than by the Harvard faculty. But he didn’t think those were the only two options… (quote continued here).
- And Christopher Buckley (son of William; in a column written after being fired from Newsweek, the magazine started by his father, for his endorsement of Obama): “My father in his day endorsed a number of liberal Democrats for high office, including Allard K. Lowenstein and Joe Lieberman. One of his closest friends on earth was John Kenneth Galbraith. In 1969, Pup wrote a widely-remarked upon column saying that it was time America had a black president…My point, simply, is that William F. Buckley held to rigorous standards, and if those were met by members of the other side rather than by his own camp, he said as much.” (read more from the article here)
And with that, I end all interest and coverage of the Sarah Palin drama until she inevitably decides to run for some other political office (probably the White House). Until then, goodbye and good riddance, Sarah.
